On February 13, 2024, 艾丽卡而, term assistant professor of education, received the Civic and Voter 订婚 Fellowship Award项目伯里克利.


Sponsored by the Mellon Foundation and the Eugene M. Lang Foundation, the award is part of 项目伯里克利’ Deliberative Dialogue program. The program empowers faculty, 工作人员, and students to effectively engage with relevant social justice issues, and aims to demonstrate the relevance of the humanities in addressing real-world issues. As a fellow and awardee, Kitzmiller will receive a grant of $1,000 for her Spring 2024 course “教育 in a Polarized and Unequal Society & 教育 Policy: 纽约市 COVID-19/Climate Crises.” Kitzmiller will use the grant in this course to implement and provide feedback on the resources and materials that 项目伯里克利 developed around voting rights and civic engagement.
